With more than two decades of experience hosting the largest and longest-running First Nations housing conference. The FNH Community is a trusted leader in addressing housing challenges. Guided by a holistic, First Nations-led approach, we unite people, communities, government, and industry to create sustainable solutions that reflect the values and needs of First Nations while fostering capacity building at every level—leadership, administrative, and technical.

As a member, you have the opportunity to join the Community Committee, the Conference Working Group, and even the Board of Directors, where you can play a key role in shaping new chapters and advancing the organization’s vision on a national level.

As we work toward establishing chapters across Canada, your participation will ensure First Nations housing is represented nationwide, empowering communities through collaboration, capacity building, and meaningful progress. Membership Benefits

  • Operational Advocacy and Representation
    Become an operational advocate and participate in decision-making to solve the problems in  housing for First Nations. This is your opportunity to represent, lead, and support First Nations communities. As part of this effort, you will help establish regional chapters to better understand and address specific regional needs and solutions.
  • Annual Conference Participation
    Participate in the Annual Conference and Trade Show, which has been held for more than 21 years. Members gain access to exclusive offers and have the opportunity to provide advice or even sit on the Conference Committee.

    Network and engage with all association members through online and in-person events where members can meet and share ideas regarding common concerns and goals.

    Attend workshops (webinars) as part of the education of its members in the three pillars of content: leadership, administration and technical.

    Access and contribute to our comprehensive Resource Center, a treasure trove of whitepapers, templates, and Toolkits in visual and audiovisual formats. This wealth of information will equip members for success in their house building journey.
  • Professional Training Opportunities
    Enroll in professional training with and without certification at three levels: Leadership, Administrative and Technical. Take advantage of special discounts.
  • Sustainable and Innovative Housing Solutions
    Be future forward with sustainable and Innovative ideas: the association is committed to sharing sustainable and innovative housing solutions. It offers training and resources related to the creation, development, and implementation of such homes. These resources aim to improve the lives of occupants at affordable costs, while also protecting health, safety, and the environment.

    Leverage Partnerships: Alliances will be created so that members can access exclusive discounts from suppliers, stores and consultants.
  • Bi-monthly NewsletterReceiving our Newsletter: A newsletter will be sent bi-monthly communicating news about the association and the industry. It will highlight new partners, success stories, exclusive benefits earned through partnerships and scholarship opportunities
  • Career Support and Mentoring
    Take part in Career Support and Mentoring programs. Members will have the opportunity to be mentors or mentees. The association provides members with education that empowers them in leadership, administrative, and technical fields.

Types of Memberships

Community

Leaders within First Nations, including Chiefs, housing managers, administrators, technicians, and home occupants actively involved in community housing initiatives, are eligible for membership. Each membership includes three members, all with voting rights (3 Voting Members).

Tribal Councils

Leadership teams, administrators, and managers from Tribal Councils focused on housing and community development. (Voting Member)

Corporations

Businesses interacting with First Nations communities, such as consultants, contractors, non-profits, and associations. (Non-Voting Member)

Government

Government entities at national, regional, and local levels responsible for financing, housing, and health. (Non-Voting Member)
