The First Nations Housing (FNH) Community, a national association, aims to empower First Nations by collaborating with its members—representing people, communities, government, and industry—to co-create innovative housing solutions through a First Nations-led vision. By bringing these stakeholders together in a holistic effort, it strives to strengthen and uplift communities across Canada. Evolving from the 22-year legacy of the First Nations Housing Conference, the FNH Community serves as a dynamic hub for meaningful collaboration among stakeholders.

“By First Nations for First Nations”

The First Nations Housing Community (FNH Community) is the premier association for professionals dedicated to advancing housing in First Nations communities. Designed for leaders, technical experts, and administrative specialists, it provides a unique platform for networking with First Nations communities, industry, and government while championing sustainable, First Nations-led housing solutions. By joining, you’ll gain access to exclusive benefits, including advocacy opportunities, professional networking, tailored training resources, and leadership roles in shaping policies and initiatives. Whether you’re a Chief, housing manager, technician, consultant, or government representative, your voice and expertise are essential to creating resilient and thriving communities. Join the FNH Community today and be part of a powerful network driving meaningful change for First Nations housing across Canada.
Leaders within First Nations, including Chiefs, housing managers, administrators, technicians, and home occupants actively involved in community housing initiatives, are eligible for membership. Each membership includes three members, all with voting rights (3 Voting Members).
Leadership teams, administrators, and managers from Tribal Councils focused on housing and community development. (Voting Member).
Businesses interacting with First Nations communities, such as consultants, contractors, non-profits, and associations. (Non-Voting Member).
Government entities at national, regional, and local levels responsible for financing, housing, and health. (Non-Voting Member)

First Nations Housing Conference

The First Nations Housing Conference (FNHC) is Canada’s leading event dedicated to addressing housing challenges and promoting sustainable solutions for First Nations communities. Since its inception in 2003, the conference has been a premier platform for connecting housing professionals, industry leaders, government officials, and community members. 

This year, the FNHC will take place February 4–6, 2025, at the Valhalla Hotel in Thunder Bay, Ontario. 

With the theme “Exploring Challenges. Empowering Sustainability,” the 2025 conference will focus on tackling current housing issues and fostering innovative, sustainable solutions that empower First Nations communities.
