About the Awards

For over two decades, First Nation communities have been joyously celebrated at the First Nations Housing Conference for their remarkable achievements and progress in advancing housing initiatives. As we eagerly anticipate the upcoming First Nations Housing Conference 2025, we are delighted to commence the collection of success stories for this year’s Community Housing Recognition Awards.

Join us on this empowering journey as we honor the exceptional efforts that have propelled communities forward.

At #FNHC2025, we will recognize the recent accomplishments of the awarded communities and showcase their projects to inspire others. We invite you to share your community’s success story to pay tribute to those who made it possible, inspire fellow housing professionals, and demonstrate the significant strides made in First Nations housing.

GOALS

The primary goal of the FNHC Awards function is to recognize and celebrate excellence in First Nations housing initiatives and achievements, fostering a sense of pride, inspiration, and community among attendees.

a. Acknowledge Outstanding Achievements

Highlight and honor exceptional housing projects, initiatives, and individuals that have made a significant impact in First Nations communities.

b. Engage the Community

Create an inclusive and engaging event that involves attendees, sponsors, exhibitors, and stakeholders, promoting a sense of belonging and unity.

The Community Housing Recognition Awards are just as much about sharing experiences with each other as it is about being recognized. Hence, we ask you to share your success, recognize your community, and help us inspire everyone!

Founder Awards

Awarded to communities from Ontario recognized by the First Nations Housing Community.

The Founder Awards are a tribute to communities in Ontario that have shown exemplary commitment and collaboration within the First Nations Housing. This award recognizes the tireless efforts, leadership, and continuous dedication of these communities to foster best practices, share knowledge, and advocate for sustainable housing solutions. The recipients of the Founder Awards exemplify the spirit of unity and empowerment in working together to address the housing challenges faced by First Nations communities. Let’s celebrate these exceptional communities and their significant contributions to building a brighter future.

Regional Awards

The Regional Awards celebrate excellence in First Nations housing within each province/territory. Outstanding communities will be honored, one from each province or territory, for their exceptional contributions and dedication to building thriving, sustainable housing solutions. These awards shine a spotlight on the unique achievements and innovations happening at the local level, driving positive change and inspiration across the nation. Join us in recognizing and applauding the remarkable efforts of communities making a significant impact on housing in their regions.

Winners will be contacted directly by representatives of the First Nations Housing Community. All entries will be shared for viewing on the FNHC website and may be asked to present their story at the conference.
