Melanie Harding, RPP, MCIP, Senior Community Planner at Nishnawbe Aski Development Fund will explore what comprehensive community planning is, how it can support housing and community development, and the role that CCP can play in long-term change. Melanie is the Senior Community Planner at Nishnawbe Aski Development Fund. She is a Registered Professional Planner and Member of the Canadian Institute of Planners. Melanie works with NADF to support First Nations as they undertake Comprehensive Community Planning processes in their communities. NADF’s community planning services include technical community-based planning support, hosting training and workshops, and the development of tools and resources to assist planning.
Melanie completed her Master’s Degree at the University of British Columbia’s School of Community and Regional Planning where she specialized in Indigenous Community Planning. Melanie also holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) degree from the University of Guelph where she studied Rural and Agricultural Development within the context of International Development.
Her work and studies have brought her to East Africa, Eastern Europe, South East Asia, and across Canada where she has built lasting relationships with communities to better understand how to support change as defined by the communities themselves.
